Free Download of the Week - Archive

11/11/15 - Back with a bang, Puff Daddy's new mixtape, a loosely-themed concept album called Money Making Mitch, shows that he can still cut it with the hip-hop heavyweights. Featuring guests like Pusha T & Lil Kim it's more than good enough to sell, which makes the fact that he's given it away for free even better. Listen below & click here for the download. 29/05/15 - This week's download is a 25 track collection of instrumentals by Gensu Dean, who records for the always excellent Mello Music Group label. Born out of some tough times, he's managed to find some positive energy to create a musical journey through several different moods. Grab it for free below. 10/03/15 - This week's download is a brilliant album / mixtape by Dogtanion. Featuring 17 tracks recorded over the past 3 years it's a brilliant mix of instrumentals, acoustoc tracks and more electronic numbers - part Radiohead, part King Krule but totally Dogtanion. Listen & download below. 07/01/15 - If you fancy something fresh and varied to dip into this weekend then you could do worse than download this mixtape from Dev Hynes a.k.a. Blood Orange. The results of a shopping splurge in Georgeton, Guyana it brilliantly reflects this multicultural country. Given that it was a cd shop I'm not sure how there are crackles on some of the tracks but it all adds to the atmosphere. Listen & download below.

Listen to it or download it below.

4/4/14 - The saddest of news came earlier in the week when the death of Frankie Knuckles was announced. One of the pioneers of house music, the reaction to his loss proved just how much that music scene had united people of different race and sexuality. As a tribute Dimitri from Paris has put together this hour long mix of his favourite Frankie Knuckles music. Listen or download here My Tribute To Frankie Knuckles by Dimitri from Paris 21/3/14 - Courtesy of Dummy Mag, you can grab yourself a brilliant 40 minute mix by one of my current favourite acts, Supreme Cuts (read my review of their album here). It's full of great tracks, some you'll know, some you won't, (some you won't admit to like Kenny G!) but it'll definitely liven up your day - I love the bit when the Liquid track kicks in. Grab it hereDummy Mix 198 // Supreme Cuts by DummyMag 5/1/14 - Hard to believe this will be 10 years old this year.
